Carniepunk - Rachel Caine

A re-read of one I haven't touched in quite a while, I was pleased to see that my reactions to the stories were the same as the first time. The good stories were really good, the mediocre stories were kinda boring but there weren't any horrible stories that I wanted to skip completely. I admit my favorite is The Demon Barker of Wheat Street by Kevin Hearne, because it's Atticus and Granuile and Oberon. Always a delightful group. I think the one I like least is the last one, Daughter of the Midway, the Mermaid and the Open Lonely Sea, mostly because I know the author can write much more engaging stories. This one is so blah it's really disappointing. The only one I found confusing because I didn't have a background of the world was The Three Lives of Lydia, otherwise all the stories were complete enough that knowledge of any novels wasn't a necessity to enjoy the story.
